You can enter the field of computer security. Systems security has become increasingly important for
national and international business. Security breaches have impacted every industry, and have
cost companies literally billions of dollars in lost revenue and
productivity. The recent national terrorist activities has required the
computer networking industry to seek out employees with skills focused on the
areas of systems security. Companies want to protect their organizations from
hackers, viruses, and other acts of cyber-vandalism.
According to the U.S. Department of Labor, Bureau of Labor Statistics, the
total number of computer information systems managers will increase by nearly
36% by the year 2012. Of the managers in these positions, more than 70% hold
a Bachelor's degree or better.
Computer Information Systems degree is an information technology degree that
provides a balanced curriculum of computer hardware, software, system design,
and communications, to help students understand current and future computer
information needs of their companies.
